I second the verify! I dual boot and triple booted two separate machines and the ASSUMED admin was not so! Even when I installed and setup XP and Vista on the same day and with all the same passwords and rights. I went back and found the shares were not the same.
I will admit, but with one hiccup the other day, I installed Vista on another laptop (a replacement! See note below) and had half the troubles by comparison. Newer version of Vista (not the first release that caused these problems) so in short the newer version did not cause any troubles and now several programs that WOULD not work are. Laptop Description Generic FL-92 ASI, Dual Core, All Intel, Intel Turbo Boost, 4 gig Ram, 250gig Drive etc..... Ok it boots up fast. I was shocked, from a cold boot. Just my .02 signing off and going driving, Bye. Larry, Are you certain this account has administrator access? I ask because when I initially set up my Vista machine, I just assumed the initial account would be administrator. It was not. It took some time to stumble across a method for getting an actual administrator account established. You could also try: - open Explorer - find RBG76.EXE - right click - click "run as administrator" ... to see if it will "take." I recently took advantage of the RBTI special to get licenses of RB-76 and RB-V8 for my flashy new Vista laptop. I'm only getting around to installing them now and I'm having trouble entering my license numbers and getting an activation key. I can enter my license numbers but when I push "Get Activation Key Online" nothing happens. I get an un-activated copy of R:Base. Then, when I close R:Base and restart it again I get prompted again for my license key, which I had entered previously. I'm doing this from an account with Administrator access. I assume it has something to do with Vista's security settings. Any suggestions? -- Larry
