Seems to be a good thing that the cables are at least suspended above the
lights.thank everyone for their contribution to an unexpected education this
morning.

Did you lay the wires directly on the fixtures, or were they physically
separated?

If the wires are laying on the fixtures then you are just lucky!

Just as an FYI, when we updated our office last year, the cables were ran
directly above the fluorescent lights. We have an office about 100' from our
server and have had no data or cable issues.

Hi

I have heard you should have your Cat5 cables 4ft away from fluorescent
lights

but the electrician wiring my new office says it is not necessary.

Is there any info from major companies that I can give him or am I being
overly concerned?

Thanks

Marc
