Mike,

I use your code but with a different report obviously, but it prints perfectly.

I have acrobat 9 (full).

What version of acrobat is installed on the computer you are using?

Also, the filesize is suspiciously small at 1k.
Are you printing to a directory where you have write permission?

Razzak

While in Report Designer, are you able to [Preview] the report?
preview works in designer
Are you able to PRINT the same report with OPTION SCREEN?
yes
Are you able to PRINT the same report with OPTION PRINTER?
yes
What is the exact syntax you are using, including the OPTION for
|FILENAME"?

The command is
PRINT BID2FBTXT +
WHERE bidnum = .vbidnum OPTION SCREEN +
|WINDOW_STATE MAXIMIZED +
|ZOOM_TYPE PERCENTAGE +
|ZOOMPERCENT 100 +
|THEMENAME R:BASE ROCKS!
RETURN
From the screen I use the 'print to file option and give it a 'filename.pdf

I actually created a 'filename.pdf' file but as I stated in the original
message the file will not open and the size is 1kb

I am experiencing a problem when trying to print a report to a
pdf file. When the pdf prints the file is only 1 kb and when I
attempt to open the file an error message appears that states

many times I am using R:BASE eXtreme 9.0 (64), U.S. Version,

Mike,

A few questions ...

While in Report Designer, are you able to [Preview] the report?

Are you able to PRINT the same report with OPTION SCREEN?

Are you able to PRINT the same report with OPTION PRINTER?

What is the exact syntax you are using, including the OPTION for
"|FILENAME"?

Answering these simple questions may also provide you with some
blue's clues ...

Very Best R:egards,

Razzak.

P.S. I also recommend to use the updated builds of R:BASE eXtreme.
