Mike,
I had an very similar issue. Whenever the PDF file became 1k it meant
the PDF file name was created and stored in a sub directory but the
actual PDF file contents did not get created or was corrupted. There was
always some command in the pipes that was not correct or errors in the
report. Use 'Option PDF' to create the PDF. Then use a PDF viewer to
open the file to save, erase, or print it.

perfectly.
I have acrobat 9 (full).
What version of acrobat is installed on the computer you are using?
Also, the filesize is suspiciously small at 1k.
Are you printing to a directory where you have write permission?
