No, Dan, recalc tables will not do it. I have a region with multiple rows, a button to insert a row and one to delete a row. There is a sequential count field so I can keep records in order. The insert and delete work fine. They are in eep's that use NEWROW and DELETE ROW. And renumber all rows higher in count. The only way I could get the new record number into the current row is with a playback file and setting the RecordNumber field to the first row in the table - SKIP TO did nothing, and putting a bunch of leading TABs into the playback did nothing.
Everything works, but, after the eep, the lower rows on the form display old data which could confuse a user. Once the cursor is passed over each row, it is properly displayed. I just tried a bunch of [F8][F8]...[F7][F7], but no luck. I could not find the information I needed in help, but did find it in the on line help. That is an excellent utility. SCREEN RESTORE has never done anything for me, and that is because it is ON by default. My NT system periodically marks a file as read only until I re-boot. I found it did that to the playback, which is extremely disruptive - getting wrong data played back. Thanks for the suggestion. Jim B.
