By any chance is your eep in the last updateable field on the row?
Try adding a variable field that can be updated on the far right of your form
in the region detail line. It can have the same color as the background and
be 'invisible'.
Apparently sometimes it is necessary for the cursor to leave the present
field and 'land' in another on the same row for the the fields after the field
with the eep to update the screen, where they are lookups or calculations
based on the field with the eep.
Another thing to check is whether you are using an eep which runs when
you enter or leave a field, or when you enter or leave a row.
