Ditto to all Dan's
points. In addition, as a 'bean counter' myself, I would not purchase
another CRT monitor, unless it was for a plant environment where there was a
high risk the LCD would get damaged. We've decided with the pricing
coming down and an increased emphasis on energy savings, it only makes sense to
buy LCD now. (Besides the fact that they look better at the front
desk than a clunky CRT when visitors come in the building.)
I haven't researched
disposal of LCD monitors, but disposing of CRTs, depending on the community you
live, may cost you. (Though many have recycling programs that are
free.)

space.
Instant on - If you use the windows
power saving feature with a crt, it will take 5-10 seconds to light up. The lcd
is instant on.
I believe they will last the same as the
crt. I have a couple here that are over 4 years old.
LCD are true size where crt are not. A 15"
lcd is almost as big as a 17" crt(crt is 15.9" viewable).
Also, the price on lcd has came down to a
more tolerable price. You can buy a 17" lcd for $199( or 159 with a mail in
rebate).
