Many years ago, I did a MS ride on Martha’s Vinyard on my then new All’rounder.
The entire field of riders were on mid to upper level aluminum or carbon Treks, Specializeds, etc. (This was ‘04 or so right in the middle of the Lance hysteria years.) As we were pulling in to one of the rest areas I overhear one of the event mechanics say to another “Oh, a Rivendell. At least someone’s bringing a little class.” That put a smile on my face for the rest of the ride.
