Jeffrey, As a current Sam owner for five years and before that a Cross Check owner, the Sam wins hands down for the same reasons others have given here. If you don't feel the bike will be secure locked up at your place of employment, then by all means keep the CC as a commuter and the Sam for other rides and short tours.
