Thanks for the reply. I'm using Kool Stop MTB dual compound pads. Stop OK, 
squeal like crazy! When they wear out, I will try cartridge pads, salmon 
only. I sort of thought the shudder was a function of fork blade length vs. 
cantilever geometry, rather than the pads.
