Yes, I've been learning patience, awaiting mine to arrive. Worth it.
!!!! :) But that's why I was delighted to see yours, another one in the
wild. Helped build my anticipation....

Color:

I fell in love w/ my green Ram, preferred it over the blue. Later, found
out about the orange before it, *really* loved it. Not that it lessened my
love for my green Ram, but, I had orange envy.

When I decided to get a Bomba, they were transitioning out of the clear
powdercoat phase, hadn't quite settled on the green yet; and, if I had an
orange Ram would have loved the green Bomba, but, since I have a green Ram,
orange seemed right. Actually, today, my wife made the comment that she
thought it funny that a California company would have painted a bike in
'Tennessee orange'. (Thought it best to leave it there, instead of getting
into the history....)

Brakes:

I went w/ Paul Motolites. These things are almost too adjustable! Unlike
the Ram, where you bolt the calipers on and go, with these Motolite
v-brakes, you install each post, and can adjust the tension on each spring,
adjust the height of the pad holder (and rotate it), then adjust the washer
arrangement for the pads to vary offset for different widths, then set the
cable's length... and each change, affects all of the others... so, it's
taking a bit longer to get the brakes dialed in w/ these. I can tell I'll
end up being happy, but, I now understand why some people don't like
them. There's just more of a learning curve. It's a good thing, will
just take a little time.

Funny you mention the shudder; at the moment, I'm still getting some
serious squeal from the front, reminiscent of a cheap 10-speed bike from
junior-high-school days... I feel the squeal; maybe not as a shudder,
quite, but, you can feel it in addition to hearing it. I expect, as I
improve my tuning on them, it should cease.

Did you have Rive build your bike then ship it to you? I already had the
crank, bars, gotten the bottom bracket from Jan Heine, the brakes, etc.;
so I've built this one myself, as I did the Ram. This one went faster,
but, is requiring more tuning (due to the brakes).

I think they'll complement each other well....
