The wii light bar is the transmitter for the Ir. the remote is actually the reciever. You can use two of those little tea light candles. Doesnt work well but ive tried it and it usualy works to an extent. The IR just tells it whether its pointed at the telly or not. For a tank that wouldnt be necessary id say
