If you want to fork over the non-trivial tooling cost ... go for it.
Just remember, as soon as you pay the tooling cost for 4" treads, then
everyone will want 3.5" treads or a different tread/tooth pattern.
Compare that to a cost of a gallon of resin and a couple hours of
mindless robot-like tasking in the shop while listening to your favorite
sporting event on the tv/radio/internet.
We'll gladly ship our tread molds to anyone who wants to make themselves
a set of treads. We only ask that they are returned in a form that can
be used by the next person.

It would be awesome if there was a company that could make

Has anyone thought of injection molded hulls or tanks as a possible
lower cost or less time consuming option to get more people into
tanking? I know the plastics will hold up to the abuse.

I'd be interested in some tracks gears etc for the Grant I'm going to
build and to re-fit the track system on the Brumm to make it more desert
friendly....

When properly maintained, a rubber mold can be used for hundreds of
castings. We've had no problem making tread parts for multiple tanks
with a single 8 tread mold.
Regarding set time: It doesn't take long to pour resin into 6-8 molds.
Once you've learned the process (spray, measure, dye, mix, pour, pop)
things go pretty smoothly.

Now we're talking. John White (KT builder) is ready to crank out dozens
of CAD designs for tank parts. Together, we can form the un-holy
trinity of mold making :-)
