Joe:
I guess my BIGGEST problem is the project growing 100k every time I
save it (has grown 4MB in a little less than a week) and my compiled
app size has grown over 9MB in the same amount of time. Note that I
have not added any code..I have been taking things out to get my app
more optimal. I'll pay more attention to how my final app runs. I
haven't really noticed any improvement there either.

my strategy is to avoid anything newer than 5.5 for as long as I
can. Got 2005 but I'm not using it. The only reason for me to
update right now, is to be able to compile for Intel Macs,
whenever that occurs.
Until recently I also was sticking with RB5.5, since RB 2006 IDE
and compile speeds are so slow.
However the reason I moved to RB2006 is that the runtime threading
model is so much better, and thus my final app runs much better
when compiled in RB2006.
I'm willing to put up with the molassas IDE since my final app is
so much better.
And of course I'm looking forward to Universal Binaries which will
require moving from 5.5 in any case.
