REAL Software Establishes European Headquarters in France
welcome RS in europe then :)
we should be all happy for RS being in europe now.
yes some scandinavian people would have prefer some headquarters in
beligium or netherdlands.
Bu the fact that RS opens in europe is good news for everybody,
including americans too.
Enven if i'm french, i like those countries too, coul have been cool
to have RS in Amsterdam or Bruxelles, sure.
But it makes some senses to be in France : France is one of the
biggest macintosh market in euope (it was #1 for years, i think it's
#2 now behind england)
Meaning French could be the second localised version of RB. (next is
german then spanish ?). but Apple in germany is very low market share.
Still a suprised whan i think Apple is moving his eurpeans
headquarters from paris to london I think. Apple is growing great in
England.
Sure RB is not Apple only, but that's an important factor.
Paris is the #1 city in the world for visitores with 25 millions a
year. And has always been a place with many speaking people. Meaning
it's easy to find some german speaking people in france for example
(I have friends from germany, belgium living in paris.)
A little suprise is that RS is located in the 77 wich is on the east
side of Paris, while most of software companies (Microsoft, Apple and
many others)
are located in the 78, 92 (west side of paris)
Some euro-RS people told somewher they have support in levallois
peret ? and inside paris ? sound wierd. Levallois peret is other side
of the map from 77 like north-west.
Also maybe Geof at RS was working at ACI before making RS. ACI (4D
database software) is from france too ;) Maybe wanted to come back
for some reasons here ;))
yes, we can feel sorry for guy jones that did a great job, but
couldn't he be part of RS europe ? guess not.
anwyay it will be hard for RS europe to compete with guy jones, on
the "time-to-reply" factor. I guess he was doing his company on his
own, meaning being very devoted and spending lots of hours, while RS
euros staff will be salaried, less devotion ;) but that's
assumptions. let's wait for facts.
Yes RS europe should be for euros too, meaning english or other
languages support, paiements in euros, not dollars, but one step at a
time.
Let's give RS a warm welcome on the "old" europe land :)
