There is a commercial ODBC plugin so you could use that instead of
the mySQL plugin.
Sure, and you can also use a stick and a piece of wood if your
lighter doesn't work :-)
The ODBC ones work and do support mySQL 5 which the plugin doesn't
And, knowing how to use a stick to start a fire is a good thing if
your lighter is broken or doesn't work.
At least I know I can stay warm whether I have a lighter or not.
