All files is shown in the Dialog box.
The extension filter only works here when the files NOT have an
FileType.
You probably mean that all files who's MacType is TEXT are shown, right?
Some of us think that is the correct behavior, since it allows you to
open the files even if there isn't a file name extension. We believe
that file name extensions are completely optional on a mac and are
only needed for files that are transported off of a Mac.
This file type should take care of these cases:
- File has TEXT MacType, and any extension including none
- File without a MacType if it has one of the extensions listed.
The open question is what to do about files with some other MacType
and one of the desired extensions.
What do you want to do with a file that has a JPEG MacType and a .xml
extension?

Joe Huber
Yes I mean that all files that have an MacType TEXT is showing.
If you think that file extensions is completely optional on a mac
then you have not understand how it is to work (Text Files) with them.
If an file has a Jpeg type and the extension .xml then i want to put
it in the Trash!
And I can't understand why you talk about such files?? It shown only
that you would ignore the problem and find explanations for your
defence talk!
