No, it means that I have encountered a file from Canon's RAW converter that had a MacType of TEXT and a .JPG extension. ie Similar but the reverse of your situation.

So you should think about what to do if the MacType and extension conflict with each other.

I already explained to you that accepting all files with a Mactype of TEXT is to be considered a good thing since it will allow your app to work even if someone has messed up the file extension while editing the file name.

If you're concerned that files have the proper file extension then check it on OUTPUT.

It's best to be as accepting and forgiving on input and strict on output. This way you achieve compatibility with the broadest number of external systems.

And RB is set up to facilitate the above strategy, by giving preference to the MacType.
