Not only big jobs. I started a very simple application in 5.5 last
week and decided to try 2006 (v1) yet again.
The project is less than 100k and contains about a dozen lines of
(very simple) code. If I open it in 2006 the 'Editor Only' view stops
working, the toolbars can't be shown or hidden and a few other things
break. The menubar remains highlighted for several seconds when a key
command is selected - even though (or perhaps because) they don't
function. Unbelievably frustrating. If anyone from RS would like to
see this project I'd be happy to forward it along.
I've never seen a crash in 2006 (I think frustration gets me before I
code long enough) but if the GUI simply stops working it may as well
have crashed.
The love-hate relationship continues unfortunately....

Well put. Every time I sit down with 5.5 I *love* using it - I
experience the opposite with 2006. I know others have differing
opinions but if they were sitting here, seeing what I'm seeing, I bet
they'd be frustrated too.
cheers
