the problem with upgrading and trying for yourself is this: you'll do

and in fact I very much like the look-and-feel of RB2006.
Seems to be true for me too. The IDE is still unfriendly:
- Dropped my old plugin to the current demo RB version and received a
rb_version: 2006.020000
message box. No title. No explanation.
Any ideas, what this purely designed message means?
Update the plugin maybe ?
- Moved the empty initial windows which is shown right after IDE
starts -
and IDE failed to move even this single window correctly. Only
part of the
window gets drawn.
Not sure which empty window you mean but it redraws reasonably well
now. Better than 2005 did in most instances.
- Didn't RB has fast/preemtive threads right now?
No
Ever closed a tab while running a compile? The remaining tabs move
very, very slowly to the left to fill the gap.
Yes, as they get their time slice
This is once again a very first impression - not a good starting
point.
OK. So how about you write an IDE for a developer tool and let us all
have at it ?
I'm the last one to claim it's perfect but it's pretty darned good
and is generally improving all the time.
It beats the hell out of laying out a UI by hand in code.
