My 2 pennieth worth...
( its all been said before )
1) It allows RS developers to see their own bugs sooner.
Who says they have to squash them sooner ?
[of course, at some point, they will squash 'hem]
2) Since coding in RB is much more productive than using C++ this allows
us to get new versions of RB quicker. ( anyone want to debate this ? )
Do you saw that ?
[have proof of that ?]
3) Since RB generates much less "error prone" software ( thanks to garbage
collection and lack of the dreaded pointers etc etc ) - in the LONG TERM we
get much more reliable RB.
Simple hope in the future; some other people can think differently
4) Since RS will be using RB as their main development tool it will "battle
harden" RB and make it a much more "grown up" tool, with more versatility.
They have to use REALbasic 2006 Release 3 (for building REALbasic 2006
Release 4 IDE) for that to happens...

Hi Norman, the List,
Exactly why I've said. Then they are using the same IDE we are and
will experience the same bugs, and these should get fixed quicker
because they are seeing them the same as we are.
Then they will or they will not squash the bug. That is the (linux) experience
speaking...
Do I seem/sound pessimistic ? Yes, so here you are. Let the future prove
that I am wrong :)
A bug is removed faster when it happens often to the developer, or when
some pay (or the Boss pay special attention); else, it stays there for
sometimes.
And to compare REAL to Apple, I saw some bugs in Tiger, on April 30,
2005 that are still there 15 month later. I have to say that some bug
have been squashed, but not released (according to an old Apple employee)...
Some of the bugs are in the Finder and the way it deals with windows and
item location on windows... So, I didn't burn CDs or DVDs since... ages
because of that. Thank you Apple, seriously...
