You certainly received a response from Aaron, one of the RB
programers who does not use or like Macs.
His response has nothing to do with liking Macs or not. His response
is stating that for all existing users who have already learned the
keyboard shortcuts, it would be detrimental to their experience to
switch.
And just for the record, the Apple Human Interface Guidelines states
that Command-N is for:
"Open a new document (equivalent to the New command). See “The File
Menu”."
I think the real solution is to allow users to customize the menu
shortcuts, as then one can select a set that suits their uses the most.
