It depends on your definition of heavy, but generally speaking, no.
REALbasic's API probably won't change at all. What you could do
however, is use the Cocoa classes (through declares) for drawing
rather than having to call into CG, which will could save you some
code. I'm not sure what all you do in your apps that's graphics
intensive and is making you thinking of using Cocoa, so I can't
offer much more.
I can; wrapping Cocoa's event-handling would make it possible to use
Cocoa controls (via declares) in REALbasic applications.
