Ryan,
What exactly does this mean for the realXtend project, and how different
will "reX-NG" be from rex 0.5, and will it still be somewhat backwards
compatible with OpenSim?

*"We understand that some of you have been using reX in production
environments, and we will continue to recommend reX 0.5 for real-world
use. However it is our intention that reX-NG would become usable by
the end of 2009."
* Ryan, exactly how will this affect browser development? Will the current
browser or the "next generation" browser still be "backwards compatible"?
Or are we "wiping the slate clean" and going off in a completely different
direction? (completely different from the direction of the OpenSim project?)
What exactly does this mean for future browser development? Are we wasting
our time with the current browser technology? Should we hold off on porting
current browser technology and hold off on future browser development until
the new "Next Gen" server backend is completed?
Will the "Next Gen" continue to have all the current features (including
commerce/currency, land sales, avatar storage, etc.)?
How different will the two codebases be? Does NexGen mean we are pulling
away from LL, or pulling away from the Opensim project?
Will OpenSim and NextGen be heading off in the same direction together?
What exactly does this mean for OpenSim and NexGen?
