Mr. Bolka, In true fashion, your act reveals you to be quick to defend the invisible walls within your mind.
Each time a mathematician says "a function" he's making a mistake. Correctly, the mathematician means "a functional" short for "a functional formula" that PROVIDES function. As I teach my son, "Lazy with words, lazy within one's mind." Clearly, a lazy mind is susceptable to accepting rhetorically phrased false beliefs. A lazy mind is what makes zealous bigots, what causes corruption and violence. ________________________________________________ Get your own "800" number Voicemail, fax, email, and a lot more http://www.ureach.com/reg/tag ---- On Wed, 10 May 2006, Andreas Bolka ([EMAIL PROTECTED]) wrote: > Besides that, how does your "It's incorrect" quoted above differ from > the "You're wrong" you attribute to "The Insularity"? ---- In RESPONSE TO: > It's incorrect always and everywhere to say "a function", but > always correct to say > "a functional HAS function" > "a functional GENERATES function Ah, yes, well, see, language has grammar, which stipulates: 1) admissible arrangement of sounds into words (otherwise it's GRUNTING) 2) grammatical arrangement of words in sentences (otherwise there's no meaning conveyance) 2) well-formed sentences (otherwise there's no consistency, only CONFUSION) With respect to REBOL, well-formed sentences is key to using PARSE. -- To unsubscribe from the list, just send an email to lists at rebol.com with unsubscribe as the subject.
