Pierre: > "humanity" means and ONLY means "those persons who are humanists > -- follow the doctrine of humanism"
Not in any english dictionary I have checked. > In other words, all ~ity words mean "a people". One counter-example: "amity" means "friendship", not "the people of the morning" > It's incorrect always and everywhere to say "a function", but > always correct to say > > "a functional HAS function" > "a functional GENERATES function" "Functional" is an adjective not a noun. It is not used that way in english Whereas, "function" can be a noun and an verb. In REBOL, it is used as a noun. > The Insularity makes comments like, > "You're wrong." > "That's not how REBOL works." > "I trust the gurus." I have checked the ML thread carefully, and cannot see those statements. http://www.rebol.org/cgi-bin/cgiwrap/rebol/ml-display-thread.r?m=rmlTCSC In fact, the first use of the word "wrong" is Ladislav saying he "was probably wrong". For there to be any dialog about the qualities of the REBOL community, I would grateful appreciate if it you would quote precisely the comments you are referring too, rather than make vague statements about people "making comments like". If we can't define terms, there can be no dialog....and, in other aspects, you seem to have a Herbert Guntheresque passion for precise definitions.
