I'd rather have Halladay, but he would require us to part with prospects and I don't think the Sox are willing to do that. The only thing Lackey would cost them is money.
Plus, they absolutely need another big bat. They either have to sign Bay (which is not looking too good), or go find someone else to fill a power role.
