So I may get crushed here for defending the guy, but isn't it likely that he's had this injury all year and tried to pitch through it? Don't get me wrong-they guy is still a massive jerk-but maybe he should get a little credit. Also, according to Wikipedia, there is a 85-92% chance of a full recovery. Maybe the way to handle him is surgery/rehab and see what he can do. It takes about a year to fully recover. Might not be the most prudent thing to do to trade him, most likely eat a big portion of his salary (and get nothing in return), then watch him revert back to his pre-injured form.
