I will try the silicone. There are threaded ends on the barbs, and I did put
tape on em. Lots of it.

        Try a silicone ring around the tube in place.  If it's leaking there
that 
        should seal it up!  Let me know if that works?  Are there any
threaded ends 
        on the hose barbs?  And, did you put a goodly amount of Teflon tape
on them?
