Thanks. Good suggestion. The problem I have is that my pump is a large pump
(Iwaki 100 RLT), and pulls all the water through a 1 inch intake (same size
as the intake and output on the pump). I have tried putting a large, coarse
sponge on the inside of the sump against the intake and it just tries to
suck the sponge in. It actually makes it worse because it sucks against the
sponge so hard that the flex tubing I have between the sump and pump
constricts and it begins pulling air. The thing sucks so hard that if you
put a couple of fingers in front of the intake, it will literally try and
suck them into the intake. First time it happened, it scared the crap out of
me. It is just to big a pump to do that, thus my goal is to remove as many
bubbles as possible before the intake of the pump.

Thanks again,
Shane

What I do on mine shane that seems to work well is put wool between
the pump
intake and the rest of the sump no bubbles seem to get through.

Does anyone use that fiberglass window screen anywhere in their
system? The
reason I ask is that after close observation, I believe that the
microbubbles I am getting in my system are actually bubbles that
make it
through the bubble traps and get sucked back into the intake on my
pump. I
think I can eliminate most of them by putting something in my sump
where the
water from the drip tray meets the bulk water in the sump. I was
checking
that area out, and a lot of water and splashed down in that section
before
traveling through the sump (and traps) and it seems to have a lot of
bubble
action going on there. I am thinking that I could put a piece of the
screen
there to lessen the amount of water splashing down into the sump, as
well as
create another area that the water is forced through to try and push
some
air out before it goes through the traps.

Question is, is this stuff safe to use IN the system? If so, do I
need to do
anything special with it before I use it?

        Thanks all,

        Shane C.
