Shane, I use 100 micron filter bags to stop the air bubbles in the sump.
I usually don't recommend ANY mechanical filtration on a reef, but at 100
micron, you can pull out the big "critters" before you wash the bag.
I throw the dirty bags in the washing machine w/ no soap, run a full cycle,
and they come out like new !  These are available directly from
CustomAquatic, or let me know, and I'll send you a couple....they're pretty
cheap ( $ 12. ea ) and last a really long time.
