But I HATE the fact that for all the positives, Coda still does not have code
folding
(which is an unbelievable oversight to me)

Keith,

I want to put a vote in for Coda. I think it's pretty cool. It has a nice
preview function (you can split the screens) that allows you to choose your
browser and incorporates my php/css (I use MAMP as my testing environment) so I
don't need to mess with a separate browser. It also has Transmit built right
in which is fabulous! I think (although I'm not positive) that Panic might
even be working on trying to incorporate CSSEdit. If they do that, then that's
everything I need. I also like it's little added features like "Clips" and
"Find" functions which I use a lot to save time. I haven't explored all Coda
can do so I'm sure it's even better than I realize. And the customer service
has been great when I've had ramping up questions.

I don't code with python, perl or other stuff like that yet so maybe TextMate
is better for that. Coda has a nice "Syntax Mode" with lots of options though
so you can develop in whichever mode works best for you. I am usually in PHP
mode. I used TM before Coda and liked it too; but, having the built in
Transmit and browser, Coda is keeping me for now.

Cheers,
Holly

Thank you all for your responses. Lots of good info in here. I'm doing the Coda
demo right now so we'll see how I feel about it after I take it for a test
drive. A couple of people responded here and on Twitter that CSSEdit is a must,
so I will give that a try too. Again, thanks for the responses.

I use Coda with a plugin for checking syntax on sites with version
control. The integration of the terminal window is handy and working on
three different files at once is a visual contained. For sites on my
dev host (who, up until recently, did not offer ssh though I'm clunky at
using command line anyway) I use Cyberduck and Textmate. I have ZDE,
Dreamweaver, and two other editing apps installed but Textmate is my
hands-down favorite.
