You can speed up the DTMF decoders by changing some resistor values if you really want to, but it will come at the expense of increased voice falsing (when the DTMF decoder thinks it is hearing a digit when it is really just someone talking). If you have the controller set to mute DTMF digits, that will probably become an annoyance.
