Hi Chuck and gang Here are some values for 2 meters (GE MASTRII)air variable cap 2-14 pF with fixed 15pF in paralell to ground on input side next 3 to 4 turns #14 wire wound about 3/8" to a air veriable 2-24 pF in paralell with 10 pF fixed to ground on the out put side. for UHF the fixed caps are deleted. I would use 2-30pF air veriables for VHF and leave out the fixed units. The veriables are adjusted and the coil can be compressed or expanded to make adjustments. 73 AC0Y
