There are many Elmira's across the US, including the more famous NY
Elmira.

Many of you know about Travis Air Force Base. Draw a 2 mile circle
around it, just to the northeast is Elmira, to the north Vacaville,
the to the west Fairfield. Most of the mentioned towns were sleepy
little < 10,000 type places. Everything is 120,000 plus and all
jammed up, town border to border.

Travis AFB puts many a large aircraft right over us at less than 1500
ft... as we are in the pattern for regular runway downwinds.

I remember when the main interstate (I-80) was a sleepy two lane
freeway called I-40, the Lincoln Star Highway. Don't be fooled by qrz
stats. Emira is actually an old railroad stop... swallowed up by
Vacaville and there are hundreds of Amateurs around in the Metro Area.

If you get down this way, drop in for a cup of joe (not evil empire
starbucks).

We send every visitor home with a free Motrac or Pre-Progress radio.
Even if you don't want it... :-)

cheers
