Great idea! Thanks a lot for sharing. The "Freedom and privacy/security issues" page contains the major points that make Replicant stand-out from all other Android distros out there. Finding a way to illustrate it would indeed help visitors understand why Replicant is needed.
I see that you were thinking about an interactive demo. Could you detail a little bit more on how you imagine that the interaction would work? Say, we would have the empty board on our table, with the shapes around it, and people would just come around and start playing with it? Hmm… there would have to be some kind feedback once they stick a shape into the board, for instance a question or a reply popping out somewhere. Otherwise people would have no incentive to stick the shapes and would just ask us "why should I stick them there if nothing happens?". I guess I am missing some point. Anyway, how big were you imagining that the board would be? It would be awesome if it were a big, say 1.5m tall, but we are constrained by what we can carry on a plane. Instead of the interactive approach, we could also opt for the simplified version of this: a poster or roll-up, with two mockups of a phone (front and back). We would have arrows pointing to internal components, or apps on the screen, each with accompanying text explaining a freedom/privacy/security issue and solution.
