There is one word that I have never found a satisfactory cognate in Esperanto: Trivet. A trivet is a sort of ceramic, metal, or wooden plate or lattice that one places under a hot pot or dish to protect the table from heat damage. The CEED by Benson suggests 'tripiedeto', but I don't see that as capturing the sense of the object as it now exists. Originally, a 'trivet' was a three legged stand to hold a cooking pot over a fire. Now the word is also used as described above. I'd like to find a better word to reflect this but my cleverness has failed me. ekzemplo-fotoj rigardeblas je http://koplushia.tripod.com/Esperanto/trivets.html ----- Einde doorgestuurd bericht ----- gxis, Ronaldo -- http://www.esperanto.net
