Video card wise I'd still agree with you. I'd especially agree with you when dealing with the Dell 2009Wt wide screen monitor and getting 1680x1050 resolution consistently or trying to do dual-head spanning desktop with the onboard Intel chipset and an ADD2 DVI-breakout card (in the end I sourced an ATI X300SE which worked perfectly straight away).
Contrary to the reports, RHEL 5.3 does not seem to work out of the box because the NIC is not recognized by anaconda. As I am PXEing I know the NIC does work and is turned on ;-)
That's curious. I've now installed over twelve Dell 760 desktops with RHEL 5.3 Desktop via USB-booted kickstart to an HTTP server and it has worked perfectly every time. My problem turned out to be that the NIC was off in the BIOS. That's obviously not your problem so I wonder what is...?
