Without question. They always take me more work getting the artists
sorted out.

Now I understand what you're doing. You haven't actually added any
ALBUMARTIST tags. So no need to remove any. If you've used EAC's
Various Artist tagging then you shouldn't have to retag the files. If
you haven't been using it for compilation albums, then you'll probably
have to fix the ARTIST tags in Tag & Rename and run a clear/rescan.

In EAC your only hope is to use the Various Artists tagging convention.
When you check off the 'Various Artists' checkbox, the titles are then
interpreted as as ARTIST/TITLE. Be aware that you can _edit_ the
information returned from the public database. EAC tags VA albums
correctly just so long as the data is correct. I find myself editing
something in at least 1/2 of the albums returned from freedb, whether
it's bad artist name spelling, incorrect album title, incorrect track
titles, whatever. It definitely takes some attention to detail, and
some time.

If your compilation albums' tracks have different ARTIST tags (double
check in Tag & Rename), then SlimServer should correctly see these
albums as compilations. By using the "Group compilation albums
together" option they should appear under 'Various Artists' when you
Browse by Artist.
