OK - as is often the case, after writing that post I did some digging around, and partly answered my own question:
With a 'modern' Sony MD player it is possible to transfer files to a Mac using USB 2.0. Sony software called 'Hi-MD Music Transfer' is needed to do the job: http://www.css.ap.sony.com/Consumer/template/DDSummary.aspx?Id=54320&Category=Personal+Audio The MZ-RH1 portable allows for both MP3 and WAV file downloads. So, buying that player (worth it for me!) and using that software will get the WAV files onto my Mac - but then how to convert a huge number of WAV files to FLAC? I am wondering it is worth using a PC to do this job ~ using something like foobar2000 to bulk transcode the WAV files. I seem to have twisted the topic of this thread a little - but what is the best way of transcoding (and I guess tagging) several thousand WAV files to FLAC? -- snoogly ------------------------------------------------------------------------ snoogly's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=9155 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=35351 _______________________________________________ ripping mailing list [email protected] http://lists.slimdevices.com/lists/listinfo/ripping
