You can transcode in Mac with Max (free) or SoundGrinder ($). I have an
intel mac, and I prefer to use foobar2000 in windows under Parallels on
that mac to tag and replay gain my stuff on another computer over the
network. Works great. If you have a PC on the same network you could
use foobar on the PC to work on the files on the mac over the network.
I use foobar because I don't know of a program that applies replay gain
in Mac, without using the CLI, and the tagging is very versatile, easy
to create custom tags.
