Sadly I have to confirm that there's a distinct degradation in final audio quality ripping even non-scratched CDs with GRIP (and then encoding to FLAC but this shouldn't have any influence). The rips I've done just aren't as good as putting the CD in the player, despite the only difference in my setup being the reading of the digital data. The CD player has a digital input suitable for the Squeezebox, so the comparison is between digital data read from the CD by the player and digital data ripped by GRIP.
I use a Yamaha CRW3200 for ripping which should be as good as any. Next step is to play further with GRIP's options page, investigate cdparanoia's command line options, final step, after exhausting all other possibilities is reboot in Windows... -- hellesangel ------------------------------------------------------------------------ hellesangel's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=5658 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=33042 _______________________________________________ ripping mailing list [email protected] http://lists.slimdevices.com/lists/listinfo/ripping
