I'm a Mac and Max user too. I recently did some ripping of the same cd using Max comparing ripped flac files to ones done with dbPower amp on a Windows computer. I played them back through the same system (Wireless Squeezebox2, Benchmark dac1, Norh aca 2b preamp, Nuforce 9.02 V2 amps and Magnepan 1,6 speakers ) I was unable to tell the difference between the two types of rips. They both sounded quite nice and superior to the same cd played through an Oppo 970 HD.
