Are these Flac or Mp3 files? If Flac (or APE or Ogg) you can create more than one field with the same name, so no need to use separators.
For this particular example I wouldn't do anything other than just list Charlie Haden and Pat Metheny as individual artists. ARTIST=Charlie Haden ARTIST=Pat Metheny The album will then appear under each of the names. The reason I say "for this example" is that there are _so_ many jazz duo's like this that labeling them as "Artist A and Artist B", as if that were a band or combo name, will lead to far more individual artists than I care to see. And since the artist names are in the 'combo' name, there's not a lot to gain. On the other hand, if the combo has a name where you don't necessarily recognize the artists, there may be something to gain in using the ALBUMARTIST field for the combo/band name: ALBUMARTIST=Sphere ARTIST=Kenny Barron ARTIST=Charlie Rouse ARTIST=Ben Riley ARTIST=Buster Williams I don't tag too many albums like this, though, with a complete artist lineup. I'm more likely to just note the artist on this album as "Sphere". Doing the above gets the album listed under each of the individual artists. -- JJZolx Jim ------------------------------------------------------------------------ JJZolx's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=10 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=42823 _______________________________________________ ripping mailing list [email protected] http://lists.slimdevices.com/lists/listinfo/ripping
