So... "ALBUMARTIST" is a tag?
If both ALBUMARTIST and ARTIST tags, does SC use ALBUMARTIST or ARTIST
or both?
What about TRACKARTIST - is that a tag, too?

Seems like it's time for me to start experimenting.

In answer to an earlier question, my collection is, sadly, a mix of
FLAC and (done earlier) MP3, with a little OGG thrown in.
I can tell when I ripped something by where it fits in the progression
192CBR, 192VBR, 256VBR, Ogg, Ape, FLAC.
I've since converted all my Ape to FLAC (really easy with dBpowerAmp),
because there's "native" support for it on the SqueexeBox.
I'm in process of replacing the MP3s with FLAC, but it's going a bit
slowly. The bright side of the whole process is that I find I'm
re-discovering some music I really liked years ago, but had either
gotten tired of or simply got more interested in something else. Early
Herbie Hancock, for instance. I'd forgotten how good a jazz pianist he
was.

Anyway, I'm thinking if taking the
ALBUMARTIST X and Y
ARTIST X;Y
approach - but only on albums that I consistently miss because the
artist I think of the album as being "by" is actually listed second (or
third), and so I miss it when browsing.
Seems like the kind of thing that I could do with a Mp3Tag "action".

I've already got compilations setup with a different ARTIST on each
track - and SqueezeCenter seems to handle that just fine.
I'm -assuming- that TRACKARTIST is for listing everyone on a particular
track (so a way to find, for instance, all the Pat Metheny Group tracks
that include, say, Nando Lauria or Danny Gottlieb. Sounds like
music-nerd nirvana - and it also sounds like more work than I even want
to think about, let alone actually do. Unless there's some kind of
track-artists-database out there somewhere (like freedb only you feed
it artist, album, track-num, track-title - and get back track artists
as a list). I'm dreaming, right?
