25 minutes seems like a very long time to me. It all depends on the CD though. If it is in good condition it should be much quicker than that.
Also itunes is much faster than max. Everyone says that is because max is more accurate than the ripper built into itunes. However, I have to be honest and say that I can not tell the difference between rips made with max and itunes (and I have tried both). I always set 'error correction' on in itunes which slows things down a bit (even then i am not sure what difference it really makes). With a clean cd, itunes will rip it in maybe 3 minutes, max takes more like 10. However i have had some CDs take much longer. There are many people here who hate iTunes (and will spend a lot of time worrying about the ripper and tagger to use), but for me, using iTunes is by far the easiest way to rip and organise my music collection. I never feel the need to buy music from the iTunes store so I do not worry about that at all. Hope that helps a bit WhaleOil -- WhaleOil ------------------------------------------------------------------------ WhaleOil's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=5227 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=43562 _______________________________________________ ripping mailing list [email protected] http://lists.slimdevices.com/lists/listinfo/ripping
