I would suggest ripping the same disc in iTunes and Max. If you can't hear a difference then use iTunes, coz it's quicker!
All these conversations about secure rips are all very well, but if you can't hear the benefits on your system, then... I use iTunes - tried the other tools out there, couldn't hear the difference.
