I strongly recommend using crip to rip, encode, and tag classical music. It was developed by a classical music fan, with more than 200 Bach CDs.
It handles separate composer and artist tags, allows custom tags, and grouping of tracks on a CD into separate works, etc. Much better than any alternative for classical music, in my opinion. However, it only runs on Unix/Linux, not Windows. The latest versions encode to Ogg/Vorbis or FLAC, but not MP3. It's available at http://bach.dynet.com/crip/ You can see how the author has tagged his classical works here: http://bach.dynet.com/playlist/index.html He used the following tagging guidelines: http://reactor-core.org/ogg-tagging.html I think this is a great model for detailed, correct tagging of clasical music. -- Ron Olsen ------------------------------------------------------------------------ Ron Olsen's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=9233 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=43851 _______________________________________________ ripping mailing list [email protected] http://lists.slimdevices.com/lists/listinfo/ripping
