Slightly overwhelmed <blush> with the responses (thank you all very much for you thoughts, and I definately will give the CSG a serious look) I am also glad that I am not alone struggling with this and it *is* a topic among us classical (and contemporary) music lovers.
You gave me some new pointers. A good friend and music lover tags his music by year of birth of the composer, which will put period composers and styles more or less together. An interesting scheme but it does not work for me (what again was Vivaldi's birthday?) Still I do see a reason when a new product (SC7) is launched that these concepts and ideas are taken in consideration. And certainly UI gurus @ Apple better be interested as well.
