I had an idea for how this could be handled, conceptually.

The scanning code would read all tags like performer, composer, band,
etc. etc.

The user would choose a template that creates the "standard"
Artist/Album/Track tags from the "non-standard" Performer, Conductor,
etc. tags.

This alternate scanning routing could be triggered by genre, i.e.
Classical, or possible there could be different templates used for
different genres. e.g. Chamber, Orchestral, etc.

I'm not sure if it would be possible to add this as a plugin to SC.
